This wonderful sounding 1964 UK 1st MONO pressing is on the yellow & black Parlophone label: PMC 1230
Both label include the 'Sold in UK...' text, with a 'MT' purchase tax code on the side 1 label.
Matrices: XEX 481-3N & XEX 482-3N
Stamper codes: 1/RGT & 5/RTA
Vinyl weight: 149g
Housed in front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed mono cover.
Complete with its original rice-paper lined 'Use Emitex...' inner-sleeve.
CONDITION
Disc: NEAR MINT
This exceptional disc has been played just a couple of times on quality equipment and each labels bears only a single spindle trail around its centre hole. Both playing surfaces are pristine with nothing more than a few wispy paper marks & a sparkling rainbow shine beneath halogen light. The sound quality throughout is clear, clean & totally unworn with no trace of any groove/playwear - even on the innermost tracks. The only distraction to catch our ear during play-check were a couple of soft ticks in the band between tracks 2 & 3 on side 1 which is the only factory which prevents 'MINT'. You will not be disappointed with this gem.
Cover: EXCELLENT +
A very clean & well looked-after example from a non-smoking environment. The high-gloss front panel is unworn and without any 'thumbnail' or spine wrinkles. There is a small bend to the upper right corner and a tiny 2mm nick to the front opening edge opposite Ringo's final portrait, but apart from that there is precious little to fault overall. The rear panel is immaculate and retains an excellent even 'whiteness'. All flipback are in-pace and both seams and the spine are in perfect condition. A tough one to upgrade.
