THE BEATLES - 'A HARD DAY'S NIGHT'
This EXCELLENT 1st UK MONO pressing dates from initial July 1964 release on the black & yellow Parlophone label: PMC 1230
Both labels include the 'Sold in UK..' text and have 'Parlophone Co..' worded rim texts.
Unusually, there is the single letter 'K' purchase tax code in the centre of the side 1 label.
Matrix numbers: XEX 481-3N & XEX 482-3N
Stamper codes: 1/AL & 3/MT
Vinyl weight: 146g
Housed in a rare front laminated, tri-flipback 'Ernest J. Day' printed cover with old/wide-style flipbacks & mid-sized 'mono' front indicator.
Complete with its original rice-paper lined 'Use Emitex...' inner-sleeve.

Labels: EXCELLENT +
A superb clean & unworn pair with just a small handful of faint spindle trails around the side 2 and even less on 1.
Visual: EXCELLENT +
Pristine deep-gloss playing surfaces which are unmarked in strong daylight with no scuffs, marks or scratches anywhere. Close examination directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp fails to reveals anything more than some harmless wispy inner-sleeve removal hairlines. Both sides of this well looked-after copy lie 100% flat on the turntable when playing.
Sound Quality: EXCELLENT
Played just a handful of times and the sound quality is fabulous throughout. My single careful play-check at volume detected slight playwear on the final track on each side but this is the only reason for the slight downgrade and all the other tracks play perfectly. The entire album is free from any clicks, pops or indeed any form of audible wear.
Cover: EXCELLENT
A rare & early example which retains a pristine high-gloss front laminate which is free from any 'thumbnail' wrinkles or storage rubbing.
The only significant signs of wear on the entire cover is slight bruising to the corners, the heaviest of which is the to rear upper right as shown above. There are a handful of faint blemishes along the rear edge but both are otherwise unworn. The rear panel is clean & white with no further marks or any writing or missing paper.
All of the delicate flipbacks are fully intact and undamaged and both seams are smooth and unstressed.
The spine is clean unbent & perfectly worded.
Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT +
Clean & fully intact with some light storage bends but no writing, tears or seam splits.
