THE BEATLES - 'A HARD DAY'S NIGHT'
This great sounding UK 1st mono pressing was purchased the day after initial release on Saturday 11th July 1964.
The labels have the earliest 'chubby' font the black & yellow Parlophone label: PMC 1230
Both have the 'Sold in UK...' text and 'The Parlophone Co. Ltd...' worded rims.
The 'KT' purchase tax code is present in the centre of the side 2 label
Matrices: XEX 481-3N & XEX 482-3N
Stamper codes: 2/RM & 2/LP
Vinyl weight: 160g
Housed in a front laminated 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed cover with a mid-sized front mono indicator.
Complete with original rice-paper lined 'Use Emitex..' inner-sleeve.

Labels: EXCELLENT +
A clean & bright pair bearing little more than a small handful of spindle trails around the side 2 centre hole only.
Visual: EXCELLENT
Extremely clean, deep-gloss playing surfaces which are unmarked in strong daylight with only some harmless wispy paper hairlines from the inner-sleeve visible directly beneath halogen light.
Audio: EXCELLENT +
Played just a couple of times on quality equipment only, the sound quality on all tracks is clean & clear. Aside from a little vinyl background between tracks and a little noise just before track 4 on side 1, there is little to fault but much to enjoy on this well looked-after disc.
Cover: EXCELLENT
A respectable example which is clean & fully intact throughout. The richly coloured front panel is glossy & unworn with only a single tiny 'thumbnail' wrinkle. There is a little shelfwear to the lower right corner tip but no heavy bumps or bruising to any. The rear panel is clean, white & totally unblemished. For authenticity's sake, I have left two small stickers on the upper flipback which detail the date of purchase and running time of the LP. These, along with a tastefully stamped 'MONAURAL' stamp, were added by the original owner, but can easily be removed if you wish. There is also a little staining to the edges of the lower flipback. Both seams are smooth & unstressed and the spine is perfect unworn condition.
Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT
Clean & crisp with no writing, tears or seam splits.
