Description
The Beatles ABBEY ROAD 1st UK Press MISALIGNED APPLE SLEEVE No 'Her Majesty'. Audio is minimum VG+.
Misaligned Apple, ‘cigarette’, visible drain, and no ‘Her Majesty’ to side 2 label, or sleeve.
PLAY TESTED. VG+ AUDIO. ABSOLUTELY NO SKIPS OR JUMPS.
It plays beautifully for the most part, with undistorted audio, clear and punchy sound, with just light minimal surface noise on intros/run-ins, and occasional though infrequent surface noise/crackle and pop, probably most noticeable during ‘Come Together’. Gloriously quiet between tracks, with a few light clicks into ‘Her Majesty’, giving an audio grading of minimum VG+.
Visually, it’s minimum VG++, perhaps near excellent. Lovely and glossy, and it sits flat on the turntable, and other than a small number of very minor/light mark/scratches. Certainly nothing harsh or deep, with most really only visible under angled light.
PCS 7088 Stereo, September 1969.
Fully laminated cover without flaps on the back side, printed by Garrod & Lofthouse, and of course this first press cover, has the misaligned Apple to the rear, and the first press covers also have a mild green tint.
The pressing also has dark green labels, with the first variant having ‘An EMI Recording’ text on two lines and a small ‘33 1/3’ text to the left side. Publishing year printed with small copyright symbol (p). Of course, the label also omits ‘Her Majesty’ on side 2. The matrix numbers are YEX 749-2 & YEX 750-1.
THE SLEEVE. VG+
The sleeve is in VG+ condition, glossy, with just occasional light creasing. Very minor ringing to front panel, but again, really only visible under angled light. There is no spine wear, very little edge wear, is clean to both front and back, has strong sharp top corners, with some minor scuffing/ware to bottom corners, and of course, with the Apple logo clearly and obviously misaligned to the rear.
No ‘Her Majesty’ to side 2 track listing.
LABELS: EXCELLENT ++
Labels to both sides are again superb, with very light/again, barely visible spindle wear to both sides. Excellent.
No ‘Her Majesty’ to side 2 label.
EMI ‘Important Notice’ plain white inner. Excellent. No splits or tares.

In conclusion, this is a lovely, original first press ‘misaligned Apple’ sleeve copy, with no ‘Her Majesty’ to sleeve or label, with an overall grading of VG+. I do though tend to be quite conservative in my gradings/descriptions, as being a collector myself, I appreciate that accurate and honest grading is paramount. Thus, I retain a 100% positive feedback rating, so rest assured, you can bid with confidence.
