UK 1964 1st PRESSING 45
This 1st UK pressing of their 1961 recording dates from its 1st UK release January 1964, and is on the orange with gold stars Polydor label: NH 52317
The 'A' side has the 'Vocal: John Lennon' credit whilst 'If You Love Me Baby' states that is 'with Tony Sheridan vocal'.
Matrix numbers: NH 52317 A 1 & NH 52317 B 1
This disc is housed within its original Polydor company cover.
CONDITION
Labels: EXCELLENT
A vivid & vibrant pair with slight wear to each centre hole, but no other blemishes or faults to either.
Visual: VERY GOOD +
Both playing surfaces are clean & bright with just one or two light surface scuffs, but nothing I would call a scratch. Careful inspection beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp reveals a tiny, pin-head sized pit in the vinyl on side 1 but no further major marks or wear.
Play: VERY GOOD
This great sounding song plays with a power and clarity missing from any other pressing. It has received a moderate amount of play and some light background is present, which is more noticeable on the quieter 'If You Love Me Baby' track. There is no groove/play wear to either song. The aforementioned 'pit' causes two light 'pops' early on in 'Ain't She Sweet', but the rest of the track plays without further distraction.
