Description
Record: Very Good+. There is a small scratch towards the end of I'm Only Sleeping that causes some light clicks. There are some hairline scuffs and smudges that create some light surface noise such as light crackling on both sides. Deep luster and shine! No snowy wear to the vinyl! The labels are crisp and clean, Near Mint, on both sides with ultra-light spindle-wear, mostly on the B side!
Cover: Very Good+. Borders VG++. There is some light wear to the edges and corners including some light fraying at the lower right hand corner. The spine shows some wear and use, (please see the pictures for details), but no splits. There is some light ringwear and some yellowing on the back, and a few small discolored spots on the front. The front is really in excellent condition, with no attempts to peel back the trunk cover to reveal the Butcher cover underneath! There is some writing in blue ink in tiny numbers on the back (see pictures). There is a tiny hairline crease at the lower right hand corner on the back. ! Comes with the ORIGINAL Capitol inner sleeve in Near Mint condition, with only the slightest wear at the corners. I tried to get as many pictures of imperfections as possible- please ask for additional pictures to be e-mailed to you.
You are looking at an original copy of the Beatles Yesterday and Today on Capitol Records, T-2553, MONO! Originally released in June of 1966. This rarity is a 2nd state cover, meaning the trunk cover has been pasted over the original controversial Butcher cover, which shows John, Paul, George, and Ringo in white butcher smocks, grinning like madmen, with raw meat and doll parts strewn over the cover. This paste-over is untouched, and could be professionally removed to reveal a shiny new Butcher Cover underneath! Please note in the third picture that Ringo's V-neck is visable through the paste-over cover! There is the number 3 by the RIAA logo in the lower right hand corner on the back. Unbelievable find in great shape for any serious Beatles or record collector! First state versions of this LP are near-impossible to find, as they were only sold in stores one day before the recall and second state versions are nearly as impossible to get in this condition.
I graded this record very conservatively to ensure buyer satisfaction.
