This UK 1st MONO pressing dates from initial December 1964 release on the yellow & black Parlophone labels: PMC 1240

Both labels bear the 'Sold in UK....' text with 'The Parlophone Co. Ltd...' worded rims

An 'MT' purchase tax code is visible in the centre of the side 1 label

Housed in a unique gatefold where the front panel is largely UNLAMINATED

As you can see above, the lamination covers only a 4cm strip from the left

  The 'missing' front laminate actually appears covering the right inside panel of the gatefold, which on regular copies is unlaminated

This copy also comes complete with its original rice-paper lined 'Use Emitex...' inner-sleeve

A bright & unblemished pair with numerous light spindle trails, mostly around the side 2 centre hole.

Visual: EXCELLENT

Extremely clean, deep-gloss playing surfaces which bear no noticeable surface marks or wear in strong daylight. Closer examination directly beneath my unforgiving halogen desk lamp reveals little more than some harmless wispy paper hairlines consistent with inner-sleeve removal, together with a sparkling rainbow shine.

Sound Quality: EXCELLENT +

This fine sounding copy has received careful play on good equipment and my playcheck found no evidence of any groove/playwear or background interference. In fact, apart from a touch of low-level vinyl background between tracks, there is nothing to fault on this great sounding copy.

Cover: VERY GOOD

This unique example is a little tired but fully intact and without any major faults.The unlaminated front leaf bears some light storagewear & a few light wrinkles and some tape residue in the upper right corner, but no tears or missing paper to the exposed edges.The rear panel is also has similar storagewear along with two small areas of missing laminate along the lower edge.

The inside of the gatefold is unworn and unusual due to the laminated right panel. There are two tiny initials written in the corner of the unlaminated lower flipback, the upper one is laminated and clean.

There is a 3cm upper seam split to the rear pocket & the spine has some is clean minor wear, but is fully worded.

Inner-sleeve: VERY GOOD
