THE BEATLES - 'BEATLES FOR SALE'
Here is a unique opportunity to acquire an ultra-rare, undocumented variant of 'Beatles For Sale'.
The error occurs in the upper right corner of the left panel inside the gatefold. On regular stereo covers there is a small rectangular box containing information about the playing of stereo records (pictured below right). However, on this particular example (below left), it has been omitted.
The disc within is a UK 1st STEREO pressing on the yellow & black Parlophone label: PCS 3062
Both labels include the 'Sold in UK...' text & have 'Parlophone Co...' rim texts.
The 'KT' purchase tax code is present in the centre of the side 2 label.
Matrix numbers: YEX 142-1 & YEX 143-1
Stamper codes: 4/GL & 5/AA
Vinyl weight: 145g
The disc is housed within an outer laminated, inner-flipback gatefold cover with the printing error inside the gatefold as detailed above.
Complete with its original 'Patents Applied For' inner-sleeve.

Labels: EXCELLENT
A clean & bright pair with a moderate amount of light spindle trails around each centre hole.
Visual: VERY GOOD +
Both playing surfaces are clean and retain all of their deep-gloss shine. However, there are several surface marks of only which one is audible - this measures 2 mm and located on track 6 of side 2. Close inspection directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp reveals some harmless wispy paper-type hairlines, but no further significant marks or wear.
Sound Quality: EXCELLENT
This copy has been played many times but all tracks are free from any groove/playwear distortion. The only distraction which caught my ear during my play-check were a handful of light clicks on 'What You're Doing', due to the aforementioned mark. Apart from that, there is little else to fault on this great sounding recording.
Cover: EXCELLENT
A respectable example of this rare cover which would be difficult to find in any condition. The outer laminate is totally unscratched and retains all of its original high-gloss finish, displaying just three 'thumbnail' wrinkles on the front leaf & a faint ring from storage on the rear. There is some light rubbing to the upper edge of the delicate front leaf but no tears anywhere. The inside of the gatefold is clean and black where it should be and is free from any writing or missing paper. There are no tears to the delicate centre hinge at either end.
The spine is clean and fully laminated with no damage or wear to the wording. All seams are smooth, unstressed and unsplit.
Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT
Clean & flat with just a few light wrinkles from storage, but no writing, tears or seam splits.
