THE BEATLES - 'BEATLES FOR SALE'
1969 UK '1-EMI-BOX' *STEREO* PRESSING LP
**MINT'**
My listings this week include 8 MINT/NEAR MINT Beatles LPs dating from 1969-1971. Unfairly cast as the poor relation to the yellow & black pressings, these 1 and 2 'EMI box' labels are analogue cuts and in most cases bear the same matrices as the 1st pressings. These particular copies were originally exported to the U.S.A and purchased there in late 1971 (which explains the shrinkwrapping). All are outstanding examples and represent a rare opportunity to acquire 'as new' audiophile quality copies of these titles which are unlikely to surface in this condition again for a long time.
This MINT 1969 stereo pressing is on the black & silver '1-EMI-Box' label: PCS 3062
Both labels have 'Gramophone Co..' rims.
Housed in a front laminated, inner-flipback gatefold cover with outline 'stereo' front logo.
Complete with its original red & white EMI advertising inner-sleeve.
Matrix numbers: YEX 142-1 & YEX 143-1
These 'tube-cut' matrices are the same as the 1964 1st pressing.
Stamper numbers: 4/PL & 1,6,8/PR
Disc weight: 135g
Labels: MINT
A perfect set with no spindle trails on either label.
Visual: MINT
Immaculate 'as new' surfaces which are totally unmarked in strong daylight AND directly beneath a halogen desk lamp.
Both sides 100% flat on the turntable with no signs or dishing or warping.
Audio: NEAR MINT
Arguably the best sounding of their early stereo LPs, this is a perfect sounding 'as new'/unplayed copy with no audible faults or wear.
I guarantee you will not be disappointed with its outstanding sound.
Cover: EXCELLENT PLUS
Nigh impossible to find in a higher condition, this example really is as good as it gets.
The front leaf is perfectly clean, flat & uncreased and all edges & corners are sharp & square.
The only significant sign of wear is a tiny area of laminate lift on the rear corners.
Inside is clean & black where it should be & both of the delicate hinges are untorn and undamaged.
Inner-sleeve: NEAR MINT
Apart from a touch of natural age-toning to the paper, this is in perfect condition.
