Description
OK fellow Ebayers…here it is the…motherlode of vinyl….I have been fortunate enough to have been trusted (check out my feedback rating) to liquidate one of the great record collections of our time. These records come right from the vault of Sir Arthur’s Oldies (See the biography below). I am hoping to clear out this inventory to create funds for Arthur’s ailing wife. Starting prices will be low and there will be NO RESERVE PRICES. All records come with a money back guarantee and a guarantee of authenticity established by Arthur himself. There are thousands of records to be auctioned off, so check back often to see what else pops up.
Biography: (written by Arthur’s son)
Art Appelbaum was known to most record collectors as Sir Arthur, as in Sir Arthur’s Oldies. He was an industry legend. His career in vinyl began in the mid 1940's near 42nd Street in NYC where he opened his first hobby and record shop. It was near the subway station and was the beginning of a career that spanned 60 years. He opened the Hackensack Record King on Main Street in Hackensack, NJ in the early 1960's and continued as Sir Arthur's Oldies when he moved to Ft. Lauderdale in 1972. An unbelievable career and an unbelievable man. Art Appelbaum was known all around the world as one of the foremost authorities on vinyl. He knew more about oldies, jazz, blues and every form of records and music than you could locate on a computer in the 80's. When he died in 2002 the store was closed and his family took a sizable collection off the market. Today the first portion of that collection is being released for the first time with permission of the Appelbaum family
Here is a great copy of The Beatles "I'm Happy Just To Dance With You/I'll Cry Instead", released in 1964, Capitol #5234. Disc in VG sleeve in VG++.
