1964/5 UK STEREO PRESSING LP
**RARE 'CROSSOVER' PRESSING**
This very rare 'crossover' pressing carries 'Parlophone Co. Ltd.' rims and 'P1964', together with a dot after the PCS.
This variant is rarely seen for sale and is not listed in the latest edition 'Record Collector Rare Record Price Guide 2006'
This copy of that rare crossover variant stereo pressing on the UK yellow and black Parlophone label: PCS.3058
Both labels feature 'Parlophone Co. Ltd.' rims, P 1964 and 'Sold in UK..' texts.
The 'KT' tax/price code is visible on the side 1 label centre.
Housed in a front laminated, flipback Garrod & Lofthouse cover bearing the correct mid-sized stereo logo.
Complete with the original 'Use Emitex' lined inner sleeve.
Matrix numbers: YEX 126-1 & YEX 127-1
Stamper numbers: 2/OA & 1/AG
Visual: VERY GOOD PLUS
Clean and bright surfaces bearing one light 'fingernail' scuff on side 1 and some sleeve removal hairlines under a halogen desk lamp.
There ia a small (2cm) dull patch on the side 2 run-in which does not affect play and there are no heavy, deep or 'feelable' marks or scratches
The disc lies 100% flat on the turntable without dishing or warping.
Audio: EXCELLENT
Rarely and carefully played on good quality equipment, the sound is bright and clear without any trace of crackle or groovewear distortion on any track.
There are a few clicks on the run-ins but otherwise, the sound is bright and clean with no clicks, pops, hiss, jumps or repeats anywhere.
Cover: EXCELLENT MINUS
A very respectable exmaple of this rare cover bearing just light handling and storage wear only.
The front panel's unscratched high-gloss laminate bears a few edge wrinkles and some small 'thumbanils' but no heavy creases or major wear.
The corners bear just some light storagewear but no 'bumps' and the opening edges are clean with just ahint of wear but no tears or 'feathering'.
The rear panel is white with no age-discolouration, just a few light fingermarks but no writing or missing paper.
The flipbacks, seams and spine are all intact and undamaged with no signs or splitting or stress.
