THE BEATLES - 'HELP!'
Pressed in Germany in 1965 for EXPORT only, this special edition of The Beatles' debut album was most sold in U.S. Army bases.
It was cut in Germany from the UK mastertapes and bears a gold-rimmed red & white Odeon label: SMO 84 008
This 1st issue has 'Alle Rechts...' worded rims, which were changed to 'Urheber..' in mid-1966.
Matrix numbers: SHZE-162-A-1 & SHZE-162-B-1
Disc weight: 140g
Housed in a front laminated, German printed 'SMO 84 008' cover with blue 'Aus Der Hör-Zu Serie' panel in the upper left corner of the front panel.
Complete with its original Odeon advertising inner-sleeve depicting contemporary Odeon releases on both sides.

An attractive, unworn pair with some minor age-blemishes to the white areas, but no writing or missing paper anywhere.
Visual: VERY GOOD
Both playing surfaces are clean and retain much of their 'as new' deep-gloss shine. Some small bumps in the vinyl material itself from manufacture are visible on both sides but there are no significant surface marks or wear on either. Close inspection directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp reveals some general surface marks consistent with sleeve-removal and turntable contact, but nothing deep or feelable. Both sides of this rare disc lie 100% flat on the turntable when playing.
Sound Quality: VERY GOOD
This rare disc has received a fair amount of play but is without any major deterioration to the overall sound quality. My single careful play-check at volume detected some intermittent playwear together with a few clicks on 'Yesterday' but no jumps, repeats or any other major audible distractions.
Cover: GOOD
Tough to find this fragile cover in any state, this example bears a moderate amount of handling and storage wear and is a respectable collection filler. The front panel has yellowed and bears some faint age-spots all over and there is a small impression of a name, but is otherwise clean and still retains some gloss. There is a 2.5cm tear to the front opening edge and some feathering also. The corners are all in good shape and the rear panel is free from any writing or missing paper. Both seams are unstressed and unsplit and the spine is fully worded.
Inner-sleeve: VERY GOOD +
Clean & complete with light handling wear bu t no writing, tears or seam splits.
