1969 UK 2nd PRESS *MONO* LP
**ULTRA-RARE PRESSING**
Released in October 1969, only a handful of mono copies were ever pressed with this label.
It is the hardest of the '1 EMI Box' mono trio to locate - in any condition.
This ultra-rare 1969 UK MONO pressing is on the black & silver '1 EMI Box' label: PMC 1255
Both labels omit the 'Sold in UK..' text but carry 'Gramophone Co..' rims.
There is no tax/price code visible on either label.
Housed in its correct thiner card, front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed cover without a front mono logo.
Complete with its original plain white 'Patent Nos.' inner-sleeve.
Matrix numbers: XEX 549-2 & XEX 550-2
Stamper numbers: 9/MDT & 1,8/ATM
Some centre hole wear and spindle marks, but no writing or missing paper.
Visual: GOOD
Clean but with numerous surface marks and small scratches, a few of which are feelable under the fingertips.
However both sides lie 100% flat both sides on the turntable.
Audio: Side 1 GOOD Side 2 VERY GOOD MINUS
Clearly played many times, side 1 plays with some groovewear and an occaisional moderate click.
Side 2 also plays with some clicks but better & without any significant groovewear.
There are no skips, repeats or any other major audible faults.
Cover: VERY GOOD
A respectable example of this rare cover which bears a clean, white and unyellowed front front panel.
There is a crease made during manufacture to the upper right corner and some wear along the upper edge of the spine, but no other significant wear.
The lower corners have minor shelfwear but both opening edges have no tears or 'feathering'.
The rear panel has some light handling wear towards the opening, but no writing or missing paper.
All flipbacks, both seams and the spine are all unsplit and in place.
Tough to find in any condition.
This disc has been carefully audibly graded in its entirety on a Rega P9 deck fitted with a Shelter 901 cartridge.
