READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning. I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.
So with that said…
Beatles LP 1965 Something New 2nd Pressing STEREO CONSIGNMENT In SHRINK NM!
I am really loathe to sell STEREO consignment pressings, simply because they are far more scarce than their mono counterparts. By FAR, consignment plants were issued mono plates. But only some titles were pressed by other plants in stereo.
This copy is an example in astonishing condition. Best of luck finding one at all, much less in nearly brand new condition.
Vinyl--- NM/ EX. Side 1 looks unplayed, side 2 has some slight manufacturer’s defect. See photo.
Plates--- 1B/ W7. Wide, thin concentric ring, close to the outer edge of the label makes this copy pressed by Columbia Records.
Cover--- EX/ VG+. Front cover looks 1964-new. Back cover has some moderate foxing down the mouth. Shrink has a tear at the bottom. Muscular strong spine. NO SPLITS.
Breathe Holes--- There are two breathe holes on the front cover. One is floating in the ceiling, far to the right of Ringo’s head. The other is in the letter “O” in the second of the two “Somethings.”
Labels--- NM both labels. The sparklies in the photos are not dust. They are reflections off the immaculate labels. This copy has the domes that are so white, they almost appear silver, as well as the perimeter text in blinding white, rather than the more familiar dull white or blue perimeter text.
Has the corrected “Nicolas” translator’s name on Side 2, making this a second pressing.
Capitol Inner Sleeve--- EX. Original 1965 olive green Capitol inner sleeve is present. Its only issue is that the bottom seam has faded white in the black strip. Otherwise, the sleeve is flat, bold colors and NO SPLITS.
A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.
RIAA: None.
As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up. Thanks!)
Note: All LP’s ship outside of their album covers in order not to damage the covers during shipment.
CAUTION! There has been a startling increase in bidders canceling their bids. A word to the wise, I have started blocking any and all bidders who retract their bids regardless of the reason.
Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!
(Please note: Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized. The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle. Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix? Thanks!)
