The Beatles – A Hard Day’s Night – Genuine 1964 UK 1st pressing– The very earliest 1st issue with chunky typeface labels and yellow & Black Parlophone rim labels, ‘Recording First Published…’ and with ‘Sold in UK’ Catalogue number PMC 1230. Dates to the initial release date of 10th July 1964.
A great copy which I would estimate has received about a dozen plays in its 51 year history, a remarkably low amount for a Beatles record of this vintage.
The record is the earliest 1st pressing with the broader and chunkier label typeface. ( For reference see page 168 ’The Beatles For Sale on Parlophone Record’s by Bruce Spizer & Frank Daniels)
A seminal album and one of their best - ‘A Hard Day’s Night’ was the first album where artist and composer wrote and performed all their songs.
Matrix numbers: XEX 481-3N & XEX 482-3N (Please note – 1N & -2N were not used on any mono UK 1st press HDN issue

Visual: Side 1: EXCELLENT- Side 2: EXCELLENT+
This is a fresh looking disc with its original high gloss sheen. It is clear that it has received a only minimal amount of plays in its 51 year lifespan. There are some faint handling marks to side one, most noticeable are two light fingernail trails which become visible when the record is angled towards the light, however I must stress these are very superficial and do not effect the audio in any way. There is also a small non feelable stylus mark which does not effect play. Side one grades at excellent minus. Side two has two very light non feelable surface marks which become visible when the record is angled in a certain direction. Side two is close to a near mint grade and I have graded at or around excellent+. The heavyweight vinyl lies 100% flat on the turntable.

A great set of these the earliest variation with the chunky typeface labels which indicate this is a genuine UK 1st pressing. Both labels are unworn with only minor spindle trails. I would estimate that the record has only been played about a dozen times in its 51 year history, an astonishingly low amount for a Beatles record of this vintage. Side one has the KT tax code.
Audio: EXCELLENT+
There is some surface noise audible between tracks but there is no groovewear or distortion to any of the music signals. The analogue richness and clarity is all present. Most tracks grade at or around MINT-. The record does not jump or stick.
Cover
EXCELLENT+
A superb unworn example of a 1st issue Garrod & Lofthouse cover. There are some laminate wrinkles visible on the front panel and this has clearly been done during manufacture. The rear panel is in superb condition with no writing or marks. There is some light ageing/discolouration towards the opening edge. All flipbacks are strong and intact. The spine is in pristine condition.
