The Beatles – ‘Beatles For Sale’, ‘Parlophone’ rim labels, ‘Recording First Published …’ and with ‘Sold in UK…’ label text, catalogue number PMC 1240. Dating to the original release date of 4th December 1964.
A stunning MINT- copy which has only received one or two plays in its entire 53 year history.

Visual: MINT-
An incredible example of this 1st UK pressing. The vinyl still retains its original rainbow factory sheen. Side one appears MINT when viewed in strong daylight. When viewed under intense halogen lighting it still appears MINT, and it is very difficult to detect any imperfections at all. Side two appears MINT when viewed in strong daylight. When viewed under intense halogen lighting I detected an ultra faint whispy sleeve removal hairline. This vinyl has clearly only been played once or twice per side. Extremely rare to find vinyl of this vintage in such pristine and shop fresh condition. The heavy duty vinyl lies 100% falt on the turntable.
Labels: Side one EXC+ to MINT- Side two MINT-
A great set of fresh looking labels showing hardly any signs of play. There appears to be a ‘mark’ on side one to the right of the Parlophone logo, however, this is the silver printers ink from manufacture. On very close examination there is a faint spindle trail on side one with two ultra faint spindle trails to side two. Side one has the KT tax code visible.
Audio: MINT
The record is effectively as fresh as it was when it left the Hayes EMI factory in 1964. It has beautiful analogue sound throughout. Absolutely no groovewear or distortion to any of the music signals. A stunning example and testament to the audio quality of these UK 1st pressings. There is no surface noise and all gaps are silent. Acoustic tracks such as Baby’s in Black, I’ll follow the Sun and Words of Love have breathtaking analogue clarity. Needless to say the record does not jump or stick. This is an audiophile copy for the discerning collector. It will not disappoint.

EXCELLENT+
A wonderfully preserved example of this 1964 gatefold sleeve. These sleeves were very prone to damage due to their flimsy construction. This one has survived in remarkable condition. Both front and back panels retain their original high gloss laminate sheen. The front panel is in near MINT condition with only one or two signs of light handling. The rear panel has a laminate crease to the top right hand corner. The spine is uncrushed with the wording ‘Beatles For Sale’ clearly visible. It appears that the record has never been stored in the sleeve, as the opening edge on the inner gatefold is razor sharp and still has the original factory residue guillotine ‘shavings’ from the time the sleeve was manufactured. Overall a very fresh and unworn example and now extremely tough to find in this condition.
