Beatles LP The Beatles’ Story Original 1964 3 STEREO labels, 1 MONO. EX

Vinyl--- All four sides are EX. They look very close to NM with just a few stray short, light lines.  Beautiful set!  Scranton pressing, all four sides have the machine-stamped triangle with the letters, “IAM” inside.

Plates--- W1/W1,  A1/A1

Cover--- Structurally very solid.  Top seam, first pocket has a small ¼ inch split.  Other than that, there are no further splits.  The cover, inside and out has moderate dirtwear, though.  Inside gatefold is very strong.  Center seam has NO splits.

Labels--- Configured 1-4, 2-3, Side 4 label has spindle marks. The other three are NM. Very interestingly, all four labels were pressed with 1963 Capitol labels, which had dark blue domes that were changed to silver/white at the beginning of 1964.

Side 2 was pressed with a MONO label, although the side plays in STEREO.  A cool little error that by the way, doesn’t merit a starting bid of two hundred bucks with a reserve and a bunch of red exclamation points.

Capitol Inner Sleeves--- Both 1964 blue sleeves are present.  NO splits, nice sleeves.  Generic white sleeves will be provided for shipment, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeves.

RIAA: None.  The only plant to use the RIAA number for this title was Jacksonville, which did not go online for production until a year later.

Note:  All LP’s ship outside of their album covers in order not to damage the covers during shipment.

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!) 

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)
