The Beatles –Help!– Genuine 1965 UK 1st pressing in mono with yellow & black Parlophone labels and ‘Sold in UK…’ label text, catalogue number PMC 1255. Dating to the original release date of 5th August 1965.
A superb and very early copy pressed ahead of the 5th August 1965 release date with the ultra-rare and early MT tax code.
Matrix numbers: XEX 549-2 & XEX 550-2N (Please note – 1N was not used on any mono 1st press Help! issue)
Stamper codes: 4/TD & 1,6/PG (early double digit mono stampers)

Disc
Visual: EXCELLENT
A well preserved copy with only one small non feelable surface mark visible in strong daylight. Under a bright halogen desk light there are various whispy sleeve removal marks and some fine hairlines. There are certainly no heavy marks or scratches. The heavy duty vinyl lies 100% flat on the turntable.
Audio: EXCELLENT+
Superb audio which is undistorted and unworn. There is some light surface noise in places and occasional light static but the audio is extremely dynamic and powerful, indicative of an early pressing. ‘The Night Before’, ‘Another Girl’ and ‘You like Me too Much’ sound amazing on this particular pressing.
Labels: EXCELLENT
There are some spindle trails to each label. Side one carries the ultra-rare MT tax code associated with much earlier pressings from 1963. There is no writing to either label.
Cover
EXCELLENT+
An extremely respectable 1st issue patents pending Garrod & Lofthouse cover. The front panel is unworn retaining its high gloss sheen. There are some small and minor thumbnail creases but these are minimal and don’t really effect the aesthetic look of the cover. The rear panel is strong and is without any marks or writing. There is no evidence of ageing or soiling. All flipbacks are strong and intact. The spine is uncrushed and retains a superb solid and square appearance. Tough to find in this condition.
Inner-sleeve Excellent-
Original and correct Emitex rice paper inner. Fresh and clean but with a minor seam split.
