1964 Vee Jay Records, 12 inch, 33 1/3 RPM Mono LP, Cat. #1092, First Pressing. Un-Bracketed VJ Logo / Solid Black Label with Silver Print. Featuring: The Beatles. Titled: "Songs, Pictures and Stories of the Fabulous Beatles".
Song Titles Include: 1. I Saw Her Standing There // 2. Misery // 3. Please Please Me // 4. From Me to You // 5. Chains // 6. Boys // 7. Love Me Do // 8. P.S. I Love You // 9. Baby It's You // 10. Do You Want to Know a Secret // 11. A Taste of Honey // 12. There's a Place // 13. Twist and Shout.
If you're not familiar with this Artist or this release, here's some additional information: "The tremendous success of the Beatles in 1964 led to numerous repackagings of their material by the independent labels that had taken a chance on them early on when Capitol, their nominal American label, initially passed on its option in 1963. While it still controlled American rights to the Beatles' first album, Please Please Me, which it had issued in abridged form as Introducing The Beatles in 1963, Vee Jay now released a slightly different abridgement under the title Songs, Pictures and Stories of the Fabulous Beatles. ("Ask Me Why" and "Please Please Me" were restored, and "Love Me Do" and "P.S. I Love You" deleted). This was the same version they had released only 11 days earlier as one-half of The Beatles Vs. The Four Seasons".
The Vinyl is absolutely Near Mint (I literally played this LP once to archive several year ago). With Original Plain Paper Inner Sleeve. The cover 2/3 Die-cut, gatefold cover is very nice. The only issues to report: some very, very minor ringwwear (bottom front), edge and shelf wear and some very slight corner softening. This is a STUNNING / Archive Quality example of this record. Good Luck finding another copy of this LP in this condition!!.
