READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning. I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.
Beatles LP The Early Beatles 1964 First Pressing MONO, Excellent Condition!
Beautiful copy of this Scranton first pressing. Not a NM copy, but man, is it close! If you’re in need of a keeper copy for your collection, this one will do very nicely, unless you only collect NM copies.
Vinyl--- VG++/EX. Side 1 has just a few isolated little lines in a sea of gloss. Side 2 has even less. Album gleams at least 95% brand new, with just a few little abrasions.
Plates--- G2/G2. Early plates for this pressing, for sure. Dead wax has the older-style Scranton insignia, which is the anvil marking on both sides. Some say it looks like an open book. This insignia was retired in 1963/1964.
Cover--- VG. Cover presents as a strong VG+, but it does have a few minor flaws that knock it down a grade for me. First, there’s a jagged drill hole at the top right corner. Secondly, there are two very tiny staple holes in the top left corner, where the original price tag was affixed. Thirdly, there are two small digs taken out of the spine. See photo. And finally, the back cover has lightly to moderately yellowed. Otherwise, the cover presents very well. Front cover has hardly any whitewear, although there is some at the bottom. NO SPLIT SEAMS.
Labels--- EX/VG++. Side 1 label has just a very few, extremely light and short spindle marks that are difficult to see. Side 2 is the same, except that it has a light scratch on the label.
Inner Sleeve--- VG+. Original Tan Capitol inner sleeve is present. The tan sleeve was the last colored Capitol inner sleeve to have been used in the 1960’s. In use in 1967, and coupled with the drill hole, this copy is undoubtedly a remaindered first pressing MONO copy, in anticipation of the record industry going exclusively with stereo from the beginning of 1968 onward.
Sleeve has a corresponding drill hole. Some creasing from improper insertion at the factory. Very light record outdent, both sides. NO SPLIT SEAMS.
A generic plastic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original inner sleeve en route.

A great keeper copy.
As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up. Thanks!)
