The Beatles – White Album - Original 1968 stereo UK 1st pressing with original top opening wide spine numbered sleeve and dark green Apple labels with ‘Sold in UK…’ label text dating to the original release date of 22nd November 1968.
A respectable copy of this famous Beatles album.
Matrix numbers: YEX 709-1, YEX 710-2 & YEX 711-1, YEX 712-1 Stamper codes: 6/LP, 3/GDG & 3/PT 6/MA (early stampers)

Visual:
Disc 1: Side one EXCELLENT+ Side two EXCELLENT -
An impressive looking disc. Side one appears virtually unmarked in strong daylight. Under halogen light there are one or two superficial light marks. Side two has a small hairline mark on the last track which goes into the run out grove and onto the label, however it is not feelable and does not effect play.
Disc 2: Side three EXCELLENT- Side four EXCELLENT -
Disc two looks impressive when viewed in strong daylight although there are some light superficial marks which can be seen on close examination. Side three grades at or around excellent so excellent minus is a very conservative grade. Side four has some superficial handling and light hairline marks visible in strong daylight but nothing that is feelable or could be described as a scratch. Side four grades at excellent minus.
Both discs lay 100% flat on the turntable.
Labels: EXC to EXC+ (except label 4 very good+)
There are some spindle trails around the centre hole of each label but the labels remain fresh and show very little signs of wear. Label four appears to have had a name erased from it and grades at VG+, however it is on the white area of the label and not particularly noticeable. All labels carry the ‘Sold in UK…’ label text confirming that the discs are 1st pressings. The KT tax code is visible on side 4.
Audio:
Disc 1: EXCELLENT
There is some surface noise audible on some of the quieter passages and I detected some light playwear in places but no major deterioration to the music signals
Disc 2: VERY GOOD+
There is some surface noise interference and occasional light ticks in places most notably on Mother Nature’s Son. Neither disc jumps or sticks.
Cover
EXCELLENT -
An original 1968 wide spine UK 1st issue top opening numbered sleeve (0330028). A well preserved and clean example. There is light damage to the bottom left corner and signs of general ageing and wear consistent with a cover which is 48 years old, but a very respectable example and certainly in above average condition.
Inner-sleeves VERY GOOD+
Original 1968 inners (one inner has a seam split)
Poster EXCELLENT
Original 1968 ‘lipstick’ poster in truly excellent condition. There is no yellowing to the poster and no tape marks, pin holes or seam splits.
Photos EXCELLENT+
The photos can not be positively dated to a UK 1st issue due to the slightly thinner card stock, although they do have ageing.
