'LET IT BE'
1970 UK *BOX SET* (PXS 1)
** COMPLETE**
This rare UK box set, designed by John Kosh, comes entirely complete with: outer slip-case, both inner trays, LP and exclusive softback book showing candid colour and black and white pictures by Ethan A. Russell of The Beatles during the filming and recording.
The colour of the Apple logo on the reverse of the record cover that came with the box sets, were red or green to a ratio of about 6 red, to 4 green. Red Apple sleeve albums were also sold without the box. This box originally came with a green Apple logo cover and has not been subsituted. The PXS 1 catalogue number did not appear anywhere on the package and was just used for ordering purposes.
I have not attempted any repairs and no black ink has been applied anywhere.
Outer Slipcase: EXCELLENT MINUS
Strong and clean and still retaining its high gloss laminate, the case displays some light handling and storage wear but no major faults.
There are some small creases to the laminate and very slight wear to the edges but no tears or feathering or missing paper.
The rear shows a few light marks to the laminate and minor creases but no splits, tears or major damage.
Trays
Outer: VERY GOOD PLUS
Very strong and clean with just a few light creases and slight wear to the sides but no tears or missing paper.
Inner: VERY GOOD PLUS
An excellent example considering the fragility of this component.
Each corner bears a minor tear where the book sat, but none have split right through.
The tray remains very strong and clean and shows no other damage.
Book: EXCELLENT
Super complete copy with a firm 'uncracked' spine with NO loose or missing pages.
There are a few light 'thumbnail' creases to the front cover but no tears or missing paper.
This copy has the credits printed on page 8.
LP
A first pressing on the dark green Apple label PCS 7096 with the 'Apple Records..' rim text.
There is no tax/price code visible on the side one label.
Housed in a fully laminated, thin card 'Garrod & Lofthouse' cover with the green Apple logo on the rear.
Complete with original white 'Patent..' inner-sleeve.
Matrix numbers: YEX 773-2U & YEX 774-2U
Stamper numbers: 1,7/GHA & 5/GAA

Visual & Audio: NEAR MINT
Played only a few times, the disc looks and sounds superb no signs of visual or audible wear.
100% flat on the turntable with no dishing or warping.
Cover: EXCELLENT MINUS
Very clean retaining its high gloss laminate, and showing some light creases and light storage wear.
The corners opening edge show some very light wear but certainly no major faults.
The spine and all seams are strong and unsplit.
