THE BEATLES - 'LET IT BE'

1970 UK *BOX SET* (PXS 1)

** 100% COMPLETE**

This rare UK box set, designed by John Kosh, comes entirely complete with: outer slip-case, both inner trays, LP and exclusive softback book showing candid colour and black and white pictures by Ethan A. Russell of The Beatles during filming and recording.

The PXS 1 catalogue number did not appear anywhere on the package and was just used for ordering purposes.

I have not attempted any repairs and no black ink has been applied anywhere.
Some images show reflections.

Outer Slipcase: EXCELLENT

Very strong and clean and still retaining its high-gloss, undamaged laminate with no deep scars, pitting or missing paper.
The edges bear a just a light touch of wear but are clean, sharp and true. No black ink applied to them.
There is just one small wrinkle to the lower left corner but no major signs of damage to report.
Tough to find a better example.

Trays

Outer: EXCELLENT

Still strong and in-shape there is some light rubbing to the flaps light wear to one side but no tears, missing paper or 'feathering'.
The rear shows some fingermarks consistant with light handling but again no major wear.

Inner: EXCELLENT

Again, very strong and holding its shape with just 3 small (less than 1cm), unavoidable tears to the corners where the book sat but no other damage.

Book: EXCELLENT

Complete copy with a firm 'uncracked' spine with no loose, missing, creases or defaced pages.
There are two small wrinkles on the front and rear covers with slight rubbing to the spine top edges but no other faults.
This copy has the credits printed on page 8.

LP

A first pressing on the dark green Apple label: PCS 7096 with the 'Apple Records..' rim text.
Housed in a fully laminated, 'Garrod & Lofthouse' cover with the RED Apple logo on the reverse.
Complete with original white inner-sleeve with the original NME review pasted to it - an interesting read.

Matrix numbers: YEX 773-2U & YEX 774-2U
Stamper numbers: 1,7/MH & 6/TL

Visual & Audio: VERY GOOD PLUS

Clean and bright surfaces bearing just one small (0.5cm) mark and some light hairlines under a halogen desk lamp.
Plays well with just slight wear to a few loud peaks and a few soft clicks on 'I Dig a Pony' but heavy wear, hiss, jumps or repeats.

100% flat on the turntable with no dishing or warping.

Cover: VERY GOOD PLUS

Clean with moderate handling and storage wear but no major faults.
Front and rear panel show a disc impression but the corners opening are all sharp, clean and unworn.
Two tiny sections of missing paper on the rear upper edge but elswhere there are no tears or splits.
