THE BEATLES
'LET IT BE'
EXCELLENT UK 'PXS 1' BOX SET.
This 100% complete original set comprises all original components comprising:
Outer slipcase, outer and inner tray, book, LP (with red Apple logo on the rear panel) LP with (with '-2U/-2U' matrices) AND the rare 42cm x 25.5cm Apple catalogue promotional poster.
Condition
Outer Slipcase
EXCELLENT
An extremely respectable clean, strong & in-shape example which retains its high-gloss laminate all-round. All the edges are sharp & clean with no tears, feathering or missong paper. Apart from a a few small wrinkles to the front laminate and a tiny area of laminate lift towards the front lower left corner, there are no other signs of any further significant or major wear.
Trays
Outer: EXCELLENT -
Strong, in-shape unsquashed with just a single tear to one of the fold-over edges. However, the fold-over flaps are clean and uncreased with just some light rubbing from insertion into the outer slipcase. The rear is clean and black with no marks or wear.
Inner: EXCELLENT
This, the most delicate component of this set is strong & totally in-shape with just the inevitable small stress tears to the corners where the book sat. However, none have torn all the way through and all the fold-over edges are intact and have no tears or damage.
Book
EXCELLENT -
Both front & rear covers are clean & glossy with no creasing or any other significant wear. There are tiny rubs to a single corner on the upper & lower spine with a touch of laminate lift on the rear of the spine. This copy has a few loose, but no missing, pages -all of which are all clean and undamaged. The credits page 8 are printed.
Record
RED Apple logo on rear cover.
Dark green Apple Label: PCS 7096
Original 'Patent No. 1,125,555,' inner-sleeve.
Matrix: YEX 773-2U & YEX 774-2U
Stampers: 2/P & 1/H
Disc weight: 146g
Labels: EXCELLENT
Visual: EXCELLENT
Clean & glossy surfaces which are unmarked in daylight and reveal just some inner-sleeve removal marks and wispy paper hairlines directly under halogen light but no major wear.
Play: VERY GOOD +
This copy has been played but there is no major deterioration to the sound quality. Apart from some light background on the intorduction to 'Let It Be', there is little to fault.
LP Cover
VERY GOOD
Clean & flat but with moderate storagewear all-round and some dulling to the laminate with small rubs to the left corners, lower edge & spine. However, there are no seam splits, writing or any other major faults.
Inner-sleeve
EXCELLENT +
Crisp, white and clean with no writing, tears or splits.
Poster
EXCELLENT -
Clean & flat with just a small 2cm crease to the upper left corner and 2mm tears at the edge of the factory fold. The small yellow stains in the right column are a printing error.
- Strict & grading under strong daylight & halogen light based upon UK 'RECORD COLLECTOR' standards.
- I play every record I sell at volume on high-end audio equipment and list all visual and audible faults.
- Unless stated, all records lie 100% flat & play without distortion, jumps or sticks. All sleeves/covers have no writing, splits or tears.
