"Let It Be“ was written by Paul, and was the Beatles’ final single before Paul announced his departure from the band. Both the Let It Be album and the U.S. single "The Long and Winding Road" were released after Paul announced that he would be leaving the group.

In 2004, “Let It Be” was ranked number 20 on Rolling Stone's list of "The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time". In 2010, the magazine placed the song at Number 8 on “The Beatles' 100 Greatest Songs”. Allmusic said it was one of "The Beatles' most popular and finest ballads". "Let It Be" holds the number-one spot on "The Fans' Top 10" poll included in The 100 Best Beatles Songs: An Informed Fan's Guide by Stephen J. Spignesi and Michael Lewis. The song is number three in the 100 Best Beatles Songs list, only behind "Strawberry Fields Forever" and "A Day In The Life", which is number one.

“You Know My Name (Look Up The Number)” is a music hall comedy number. John came up with the lyric/title after seeing a phone book. All four Beatles participated in the first three recording sessions, on May 17, and June 7 & 8, 1967. A saxophone part was recorded on June 8 which was played by Brian Jones of The Rolling Stones. The song was left unreleased and untouched until April 30, 1969, when John and Paul laid down all the vocal tracks and added additional sound effects with the help of Mal Evans. George and Ringo did not participate in this last session

Although eventually released as a Beatles song, "You Know My Name (Look Up The Number)" was nearly released as the A-side of a Plastic Ono Band single. John was determined to have this song and "What's the New Mary Jane" (a Beatles outtake from the White Album recorded by John and Yoko with George) released, and he arranged for Apple to issue both unorthodox songs on a Plastic Ono Band single. On November 26, 1969, four months after Brian Jones drowned in his swimming pool, John edited "You Know My Name (Look Up The Number)", reducing the length from 6:08 to 4:19, a more suitable length for a single. The Plastic Ono Band single was given an Apple catalogue number (Apples 1002) and British release date (December 5, 1969). Three months later, the song was released as the B-side to "Let It Be." The original Plastic Ono Band single catalogue number is visible, though scratched out, in the run-out groove of the original British pressings of the single.

This auction is for the U.S. Apple 45 “Let It Be” backed with “You Know My Name (Look Up The Number)”. This original 1970 pressing list the B-Side as “You Know My Name (Look Up My Number)”. The Record is in Very Good+ condition, with clean, unblemished labels. The Picture Sleeve is Very Good+ with some wrinkling.
