This listing is for a very rare 1990 repressing of the 1977 release of the Beatles' last live concert at The Hollywood Bowl in 1965. Recently immortalised in the Ron Howard film Eight Days A Week this was heavily bootlegged in the 60's until the record companies decided they might as well get in on the action. Reissued in the early 1990's with a change of the colours of the ticket from Blue/Green to Red/Pink this is a very rare item as the CD revolution had almost killed vinyl sales at this point.
I can't find another copy of this pressing for sale anywhere else so act now as it might be a while before another one comes to the market. A great investment and essential for all Beatles collectors.
All of my records are play tested on a Project Debut Carbon with 2M Red stylus which is quite revealing so any sound defects may be more exaggerated than on other more mainstream players. Or conversely if you are a full on audiophile I will let you judge how your set up compares and how you envisage the sound will compare.
I don't currently have access to a cleaning machine so please forgive any dust or finger marks which are on any of my records - hopefully will be investing in one at some point.
Record Appearance - VG+ Very nice condition with just a couple of light scratches but nothing that will affect playback. Nice glossy finish and appears to have been machine cleaned. Labels are in great condition with no pen marks and only light spindle marks. There are a couple of small pressure tears around the spindle hole on Side 2 but this will have been present from the factory.
Record Audio - VG+ I have not extensively tested as even though I am a huge Beatles fan the constant screaming just gives me a headache haha. Surface noise is limited to the run in and in between tracks with the audio playback maintaining the original quality. If you would like me to test more thoroughly or any particular tracks happy to do so just ask. This is not the last word in audio quality due to the nature of the recording (the concert was played through a tannoy) but this is about capturing an important part of Beatles history. The recent re-issue for the Eight Days A Week movie is an amazing remaster and highly recommended.
Record Sleeve - VG+ Again really nice condition shelf wear is only light and well hidden by the ivory colour sleeve. The spine is nice and solid with clear titles. There is only light ring wear visible when viewed under a bright light and the odd crease on the edge. There are no pen marks or other damage save a few dirt marks which should be removed with careful cleaning but not something I like doing as I am clumsy. The bottom of the opening has very slightly started to tear but should be fine if kept in a dust cover and stored carefully. Record is stored in the original paper sleeve and is in great condition.
