This is for TWO records. One record has "Love Me Do" with Ringo Starr playing drums. The other record has "Love Me DO" with Andy White playing drums. Here is the story:
There were three original recordings of "Love Me Do". The first recording had Peter Best playing Drums. Pete Best was the original Beatles drummer. Pete was replaced by Ringo Starr....and the second recording was dome with Ringo on Drums. The third recording was done with session drummer Andy White on drums, and Ringo Starr playing tambourine.
When this 50th Anniversary single was issued, the company, in error, issued 10,000 copies of the single with Andy White playing drums. Immediately, Apple Corp recalled all 10,000 copies and destroyed all of the returned copies. Then, the company released 6,000 copies of this anniversary single of the version with Ringo Starr playing drums. We have no idea how many of the original 10,000 copies were returned to Apple Corp and destroyed. Ours is one copy which escaped destruction.
You will receive one copy of the "withdrawn" single (with Andy White on drums), and one copy of the single with Ringo Starr on drums. Both copies are absolutely MINT, (never played)!
