Description
THE BEATLES - 'LOVE ME DO/P.S. I LOVE YOU'
This extremely early 1st UK pressing of their debut 45 dates from initial release in October 1962 and is on the red & silver Parlophone label: 45-R 4949
Both labels bear the 'Ardmore & Beechwood' publishing credit and the 'Made in Gt. Britain' text.
A 'ZWOT' purchase tax codes is visible in the centre of the 'P.S. I Love You' label
'ZT' codes are present in both run-outs.
Matrix numbers: 7XCE 17144-1N & 7XCE 17145-1N
Stamper codes: 1/P & -/JR
The 'JR' stamper code is usually only found on promo copies only and its presence here indicates that this disc was one of the earliest copies pressed.
The disc is housed in an original 'coloured diamonds' Parlophone company cover.

Labels: EXCELLENT
Both labels are bright & unfaded with just a single small mark on each and a some light spindle trails around each centre hole, more numerous on the 'P.S. I Love You' centre.
Visual: VERY GOOD
Both playing surfaces are clean & glossy but do bear several light surface marks and one or two light scratches consistent with frequent play. However, none of these are deep or 'feelable' and both sides of the disc lie 100% flat on the turntable when playing.
Play: VERY GOOD
This copy has been played many times but not abused and the sound is still warm and strong on both songs. Some light background is audible in the breaks on 'Love Me Do' and slightly more noticeable on 'P.S. I Love You'. However, there are no clicks, pops or any other significant or major faults.
Cover: VERY GOOD
General age/storagewear but no tears, splits or writing.
