Description
The Beatles: The Collection- The audiophile company Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab released a 14-disc box set of every Beatles LP album consisting of the twelve British versions of the albums pressed off the original Abbey Road studio master tapes plus the US-only Magical Mystery Tour using a technique called "Half Speed Mastering.” Each album is pressed on MFSL super virgin vinyl by the Victor Company of Japan (JVC) ensuring the best sound quality possible. The vinyl is so pure that you can see through it! All album jackets are printed with photographs of original studio reel-to-reel tape boxes and log sheets. The original album covers are included in a booklet which also features a Certificate of Authenticity as this was a limited edition collection. Released with much anticipation in early October 1982, The Collection was lauded by critics and fans worldwide for the superb sound and sold-out completely within the first year so MFSL pressed a second run of the Beatles Box Set for a total production run of 25,000 over the next two years or until October 1985. Today, The Collection fetches up to $1,200.00 for a used set and $3999.00 for a factory sealed set.
Description - 14-LP Box Set with Geo-Disc and Illustrated Full Color Booklet. The edition is number 20,492 of 25,000 and includes the Certificate of Authenticity which is hand signed by then MFSL president Herbert J. Bell. I am not a LP record collector and make no judgment as to condition. I had the discs independently inspected by an audiophile expert who also test played some of the discs and his evaluation was that the condition is excellent and without any discovered issues. This set came from a friend who passed away who had an extremely high-end audio playback system and it is believed that these were rarely played. The box is in very good condition with a few marks only. Product is sold as-is, will be double boxed to ship and is non-returnable.
