The Beatles The Collection Original Master Recording Limited Edition number 7249 (very low number!), made in Japan, hand signed by the President of Mobile High Fidelity Sound Lab on the certificate of authenticity (picture 4) This box set was purchased new in 1982 at a record store and still in the hands of the original owner, I am helping him sell it. The set is 100% Complete with all 14 LP's, sleeves, the box, the GEO-DISC and GEO-DISC case, as well as the picture book and warranty card (pictures 2, 7 and 10).
Condition:
Keep in mind, I am very critical in my analysis of condition, but this particular set is in amazing condition.
I know this sounds cliche, but it's true; the records were only listened to once in their entire lifetime. They were each played all the way through then put back in the set's archival quality sleeves (see picture 7).
Each and every record has a perfect mirror-like finish and I would rate them as mint. There are two tiny (half inch) surface marks on side 1 of disc 1 (picture 9) that cannot be seen unless light hits it at a certain angle. They incredibly minor and do not go into the grooves; the area has been tested by an expert and the audio is not affected. I only mention this because I meticulously tried to find every possible flaw and this was all I could come up with. These records are as close to perfect as can be!
The sleeves are all complete and in excellent condition, the top edges have minor wear from storing them in a case of this shape (picture 3).
The outer case shows some signs of storage, but in my opinion is in equal or better condition than most I've seen. No major marks on it at all. Picture book is mint / near mint. All colors are perfectly preserved and look amazing. Geo Disc shows no signs of wear and looks like new, should work perfectly if you are planning on using it.
