Description
Solid VG+ original US pressing of The Beatles Rubber Soul in MONO. US mix and sequencing, which means you'll get "I've Just Seen and Face" instead of "Drive My Car," and "It's Only Love" instead of "What Goes On". You'll also hear the audible cough/sneeze in "Norwegian Wood". Altogether a much more acoustic, sombre album than the UK version, or even the standard stereo mix. For the (then novel) stereo mix of the album, George Martin panned everything either left or right, leaving the album's stereo sound without a middle. This "boxy" mono mix is therefore also much fuller and immediate, with Lennon sighing right into your ear during "Girl". "The Word" -- the hardest-rocking moment on the US version -- is a different proto-psychedlic beast altogether. It sounds so much more punchy and garage-band in Mono than it does when "separated" into Stereo, with half the band in the left channel and half the band in the right. Paul's bass also has a chance to shine throughout the whole album. Matrix: T-X-1-2442. Runout (A): T-1-2442-G12. Cover grading is VG-. Pen signature ("Corey" McCartney?) on upper back cover. Spine wear and ring wear pictured. Some noticeable damage along the upper edge of the cover (as pictured). Original insert included (slightly split along the edges from storage wear but otherwise intact).
