On offer here, is a truly outstanding copy of this original demonstration single
In 1969 EMI made the mistake of releasing the Beatles single 'Something' after it had appeared on the 'Abbey Road' album. This ended a run of six consecutive Beatles UK #1 singles when 'Something' only reached #4
Move forward two years and Paul repeats this by lifting his second UK solo single after it had appeared on 'Ram'. As a result this has become a comparatively rare McCartney issue, although still quite surprising that it only reached #39 in the chart. I wonder if he was trying to emulate George's #1 success, a few months earlier, with 'My Sweet Lord' which had been released after it's appearance on the triple album, 'All Things Must Pass'
The 'Ram' album used some songs to take a dig at the other Beatles and this song contains the repeated line 'We believe that we can't be wrong', which apparently, was a line used by John & Yoko in an interview about world peace
Of course, John came back just after, to take a major swipe at Paul, on his 'Imagine' album

The Vinyl
Visually: Stunning - deep black surfaces - I cannot see any significant marks on either playing surfaces - a small non sounding line in the deadwax side 2 - impossible to better
Audio: Near Mint

The Labels
Top condition - no writing or damage - just a few well aimed spindle trails, both sides, suggesting very little play - the paper on the centre is wrinkled, from manufacture, which has resulted in a couple of rubs across the peaks (see photo)

Original first issue - impossible to find in this near perfect condition
