Extremely rare 1963 pressing of the Beatles Debut LP Please Please Me. The side 1 black and gold mono label states the publishing credits for I Saw Her Standing There, Misery, Ask Me Why and Please Please Me to Dick James Mus. Co and on Side 2 Do You Want To Know A Secret and There's A Place the credits go to Northern Songs Ltd. Page 117 of the Rare Record Price Guide 2014 states pressings for either Dick James Mus. Co or Northern Songs so this is an example of the transition between first and second pressings which has been completely omitted from the Price Guide. I do not believe this is a new discovery just a serious omission from the Guide.
The value of this particular disc then comes from the scarcity of this transitional pressing and certainly not to the quality of the sleeve or the disc which are not in good condition by any standards but as I say the labels themselves are very acceptable.
