THE BEATLES: ‘PLEASE PLEASE ME’ – **RARE VARIANT** - THIS IS A 1965 UK **SIXTH PRESSING** MONO VINYL LP - PMC 1202
Released in 1965 this is the **RARE SIXTH PRESSING MONO** Vinyl LP for Beatles Debut album ‘Please Please Me‘, on the Black & Yellow Parlophone Record Label, with ‘The Gramophone Co Ltd’ label rim, and the wording ‘Sold in UK, subject to resale price conditions – see price lists’, and ‘Made in Gt. Britain’ label text. The track listing is the same as for the original 1963 variant.
The machine stamped matrix on the side 1 run out groove reads: XEX 421-1N and the side 2 Matrix is XEX 422-1N. The side 1 stampers are: ‘5’, ‘RHL’, and the side 2 stampers are: ‘0’, ‘RR‘.
The Vinyl LP comes in an original Emitex Lined Inner Bag and is housed in an Original Laminated Garrod and Lofthouse Flip back sleeve, displaying the wording ’mono’ printed in small lettering on the top right hand corner of the front of the sleeve.
Turning to the grading of this Original UK album, both sides of the record labels and both sides of the vinyl disc are in SUPERB and very bright excellent plus condition. The labels are very bright with only the faintest signs of any spider marks. The Vinyl is very IMPRESSIVE showing only minimal and light surface hairlines, but certainly no major digs or scuffs. The album plays smoothly, without any clicks, jumps, pops or distortion. The laminated flip back sleeve is graded in excellent condition, a clean, bright and firm sleeve, which has retained its full glossy laminate, showing a little light wear/bruising to a couple of the corners, and a little light feathering to the gate edge, but certainly nothing to detract from the overall pleasing condition of the sleeve. The reverse of the sleeve is bright, clean and firm and all three fold over flaps are in tact. There is no handwriting to any part of the sleeve. The spine is in great shape and the printed wording ‘Please Please Me’ – ‘The Beatles’ is clearly readable! The Lined Emitex Inner bag too is in great shape, with no handwriting or tearing.
