THE BEATLES - 'PLEASE, PLEASE ME'
1964 UK **5th STEREO** PRESSING LP
**'MID-SIZED' STEREO COVER**
This hard to find early 1964 5th stereo pressing is on the UK black & yellow Parlophone label: PCS 3042
Both labels carry the 'Sold in UK..' texts, 'Parlophone Co Ltd...' rims and the 'Recording First Published..' statement .
There is no tax/price code is visible on either.
Housed in a front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' cover with the 'mid-sized' stereo logo.
Complete with original 'Use Emitex' poly-lined inner-sleeve.
Matrix numbers: YEX 94-1 & YEX 95-1
Stamper numbers: 1/RA & 1/GL
Labels: EXCELLENT
Visual: VERY GOOD
Played many times but in no way abused, the surfaces retain a deep gloss, undulled by groovewear or overplay.
There are some light 'fingernail' scuffs together with the occaisional light scratch but no deep or 'feelable' marks.
Pressed on thick, quality vinyl which lies 100% flat on the turntable without dishing or warping.
Audio: VERY GOOD PLUS
The superb stereo mix is bright and clean without any trace of crackle or groovewear distortion in either channel or on any track.
There are a few noticeable 'clicks' at the beginning of 'Do You Want To Know a Secret' and some softer ones between tracks but no jumps or repeats.
Cover: VERY GOOD PLUS
This rare cover display light to moderate handling and storagewear but no major faults.
The front panel is bright and glossy with an unscratched laminate bearing some light wrinkles to the edges and creases toward the opening edge.
The left corners display some storagewear but the others and opening edges are clean and sharp with light wear only.
The rear panel is clean and white with no age discolouration. There are a two tiny brown spots but but no other marks, writing or missing paper.
There is some minor discolouration to the lower flipback but the others are clean, intact and undmamged.
The spine and seams are all strong, unstressed and unsplit with no missing paper or laminate.
