Description

THE BEATLES - 'PLEASE, PLEASE ME'

In October 1969 EMI introduced this new '1-EMI-box' design label to replace the yellow & black design which had been employed since April 1963. Most utilized the same matrices with the original 'tube-cut' mixes/masters as the 1st pressing and are their equal in sound quality.

This UNPLAYED stereo pressing dates from October 1969 and is on the '1-EMI Box' EMI/Parlophone label: PCS 3042

Both labels carry the 'The Gramophone Co. Ltd..' & 'Made In Gt. Britain' rim texts.

Matrix numbers: YEX 94-1 & YEX 95-1 (the same as the 1963 1st pressing)

Stamper codes: 2/ML & 1/ML

Vinyl weight: 146g

Housed in a front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed cover without a stereo front indicator.

Complete with its original red & white EMI advertising inner-sleeve.

Labels: MINT

A perfect pair with no spindle trails or marks around either centre hole.

Visual: EXCELLENT +

Pristine, deep-gloss playing surface which apart from a single harmless surface mark on each side are 'as new' in strong daylight and display no further blemishes or wear directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp.

Play: MINT

This copy appears not to have been played and my careful single play-check confirms the sound to be flawless and fabulous throughout.

Cover

EXCELLENT

A respectable example with a bright high-gloss front laminate bearing a few 'thumbnails' towards the front edge, but no other signs of wear. All corners and both opening edges are completely unworn and the rear panel is free from any significant blemishes or any writing or missing paper. All flipbacks are fully intact and the seams and spine are smooth, unstressed and unworn.

Inner-sleeve

EXCELLENT

Clean & flat with some minor wrinkles, but no writing, tears or seam splits.
