**FIRST CLASS UPGRADE COPY'**

This 1st issue features an alternate take (Remix 11) of 'Tomorrow Never Knows' which has extra sound effects and extended fadeout compared to later mono & stereo mixes.

This version was withdrawn immediately upon release and is available only on mono discs with the 'XEX 606-1' side 2 matrix.

Purchased on day of release, this fine 1966 UK 1st mono pressing is on the black & yellow Parlophone label: PMC 7009
Both labels include the 'Sold in UK..' text & 'Gramophone Co..' rims.
Label 2 carries the Dr. Robert' spelling and a 'KT' tax/price code.

Housed in a the front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse printed mono cover.
Complete with its original plain white 'Patents Applied For' inner-sleeve.

Stamper numbers: 5/AH & 4/AM
Disc weight: 160g

Both labels are clean and bright with just some light spindle marks around each centre hole.

Visual: EXCELLENT

Both surfaces of this extremely well-looked & seldom played copy retain their deep-goss shines with no groovewe whitening from overplay or clouded areas from incorrect sotrage.
When viewed in strong daylight, side 1 displays just two light fingernail scuffs and side 2 a single non-feelable, non-audible 1.5cms hairline scratch, but no other marks or wear.
Close and careful inspection directly under my halogen desk lamp reveals nothing further than a bright rainbow shine and a few barely visible wispy paper hairlines.
Both sides of this solid 160g pressing lie 100% flat on the turntable with no signs or dishing or warping.

Audio: EXCELLENT PLUS

Top sounding copies of this pressing are extremely hard to find as most copies, however clean looking, are nearly always groove-damaged by poor quality equipment or overplay.
However, I am pleased to report that this particular copy is the exception to the rule and I guarantee, will not disappoint.
It is immediately clear from the silent side 1 run-in & clear, undistorted guitar riff on 'Taxman' that this copy has received just a few careful plays on good quality equipment.
Other easily worn areas: 'Eleanor Rigby', 'Here There & Everywhere' & delicate introduction of 'Love You To', play perfectly without any background crackle or groovewear.
Even the final chorus of 'Yellow Submarine' and the entire 'She Said, She Said', play without any evidence peakwear distortion or any background noise in either channel.
Side 2 is fault-free with the icing on the cake being a perfect sounding 'remix 11' version of 'Tomorrow Never Knows', with its extra effects and extended fadeout.
Both run-ins and all bands play extremely quietly and there are no heavy clicks, pops, jumps or any other significant or major faults on any part of the LP.

This outstanding example looks like it has just left the shop.
It retains a pristine white & unyellowed front panel with an unscratched, high-gloss front lamiante which bears just a single tiny 'thumbnail' crease but no spine bends or any other signs of wear.
All the corners are clean & square and both opening edges appear untouched and are in perfect condition with no indentations, tears or feathering.
The rear panel is clean and black where it should be with no traces of ringwear, storagewear rubbing, writing, missing paper or another wear.
All flipbacks are in perfect, undamaged and unworn condition and apart from a shelfwear rub to 1cm of the lower seam, the seams are totally undamaged.
The spine is unbent and fully laminated, square and unsquashed with factory 'pinched' ends and a perfect text.
You will not need to upgrade this example.

Some natural age and a few creases from storage but no tears or splits.
