THE BEATLES - 'RUBBER SOUL'
1971 UK '2-EMI-BOX' PRESSING LP
**MINT**
My listings this week include 8 MINT/NEAR MINT Beatles LPs dating from 1969-1971. Unfairly cast as the poor relation to the yellow & black pressings, these 1 and 2 'EMI box' labels are analogue cuts and in most cases bear the same matrices as the 1st pressings. These particular copies were originally exported to the U.S.A and purchased there in late 1971 (which explains the shrinkwrapping). All are outstanding examples and represent a rare opportunity to acquire 'as new' audiophile quality copies of these titles which are unlikely to surface in this condition again for a long time.
This MINT UK 1971 stereo pressing is on the black & silver '2-EMI-Box' label: PCS 3075
Both labels have 'Gramophone Co..' rims.
Housed in a front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse printed cover.
Complete with its original red & white EMI advertising inner-sleeve.
Matrix numbers: YEX 178-3 & YEX 179-3
These 'tube-cut' matrices are the same as the 1965 pressing.
Stamper numbers: 2/PP & 3/GR
Disc weight: 136g
Labels: MINT
A perfect set with no spindle trails on either label.
Visual: MINT
Immaculate 'as new' surfaces which are totally unmarked in strong daylight AND directly beneath a halogen desk lamp.
Both sides 100% flat on the turntable with no signs or dishing or warping.
Audio: MINT
This pristine copy is unplayed and is a perfect sounding 'as new' copy with no audible faults or wear.
If you are searching for a perfect sounding stereo copy of this title, here you go.
Cover: NEAR MINT
This 'shop condition' cover remains in the same condition as the day it was bought.
The shrinkwrapping has contracted slightly but is intact. Apart from a tiny bruises to two corners, this is in MINT condition.
You will not find a better example.
Inner-sleeve: NEAR MINT
Slight paper toning but otherwise perfect & 'as new'.
