Description
Especially rare copy of "The Beatles Second Album". Cover is in NM- condition and the record is a strong VG+ (aka EX) condition using the grading standards of the Cox/Daniels "Price Guide For The Beatles American Records" (6th edition). This copy is Spizer version CAP 2080.SR3A (cover is SR1A). Rare pressing because "I Call Your Name" is credited to BMI and that song only has NO running time. The record has the standard Capitol Records black labels with rainbow perimeter and no "Subsidiary..." print. This is an east coast (Scranton, PA) Capitol pressing (#3).
The cover is almost perfect other than a few small "crinkles" in the front and rear slicks. No missing cardboard, slick, or ink. No mold, tears, or ring wear. Faint stain on the rear slick which can likely be gently cleaned off if so inclined. The front and rear cover slicks are as shiny as the day they were manufactured.
Record is also nearly perfect other than a couple very small barely noticeable surface scratches/rubs; none penetrate into the vinyl. Sounds excellent!
The album will be shipped outside of the cover in a rigid cardboard mailer for protection. Payment is due within 3 days of purchase date and/or end of the auction. I will include insurance to the shipping charge.
Note - the 2014 Panenka book ("The Standard Price Guide For American Beatles Records") value for this version in this condition is $370. That tells you the rarity of this specific pressing.
