Description
This item is an early copy of The Beatles’ 1967 “Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” mono LP. It is from my own collection, bought by me as soon as it was released and in my possession ever since.
- The record is on the yellow and black Parlophone label
- Label carries the number PMC 7027.
- Run-off code on Side 1 is XEX 637–1, and on Side 2 is XEX 638-1.
- Both labels have “The Gramophone Co Ltd” rim credits
- Both labels have the “Sold in UK subject to resale price conditions” statement
The record itself is entirely flat and retains a good sheen on both sides. I’ve looked carefully and can’t see ANY scratches on Side 1. Side 2 has a small, very light scratch about 2” long. But I’ve played both sides and there’s no jumps or skips. There’s a few fingerprints and some dust on both sides but I’ve made no attempt to wipe these off. Both labels are in excellent condition except for the inevitable marks around the spindle hole.
The record comes with a red & white inner sleeve (see photo), which appears faded on the white side and is creased around the outline of the record, but is otherwise sound.
The ‘cut-outs’ insert looks as if it’s never been touched, and is in perfect condition.
The outer fold-out cover is sound and in good condition with just a few small creases in the laminate, particularly near the spine. The corners and the ‘open’ edges are very slightly scuffed, but overall it looks good.
