THE BEATLES - 'SGT. PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND'

1969 UK 2nd PRESS *MONO* LP

**WITHOUT 'SOLD IN UK...' LABEL TEXT**

This NEAR MIINT & rare 1969 2nd MONO pressing is on the UK black & yellow Parlophone label: PMC 7027
Both labels omit the 'Sold in UK..' text but carry 'Gramophone Co..' rims.
There is no tax/price code visible on either label.

Housed in its fully laminated, inner-flipback gatefold 'Garrod & Lofthouse' 'Patents Pending' mono cover.
Complete with Near Mint cut-out sheet & original white inner-sleeve.

Matrix numbers: XEX 637-1 & XEX 638-1
Stamper numbers: 4/RLG & 9/MGM

Visual: NEAR MINT

Both surfaces are MINT viewed in natural light with just a few barely visible wispy paper hairlines directly under a halogen desk lamp.
Otherwise this is a pristine disc with no marks or any scratches to either side.
Quality, sharp-edged vinyl which lies 100% flat on both sides with no dishing or warping.

Audio: NEAR MINT

Rarely & carefully played, this is a superb sounding copy without any trace of crackle or groovewear distortion in either channel or on any track.
Both run-ins and are silent and all quiet passages are detailed and clear. Even the easily damaged 'She's Leaving Home' plays perfectly.
There are no clicks, jumps or repeats anywhere.


Cover: EXCELLENT MINUS

Bright, clean and strong example with an undamaged front laminate without any 'thumbnails', creasing or major signs of wear.
There are small bumps to all corners but the opening edges are clean & sharp with no tears or feathering.
The inside and rear panel are unmarked, with no writing, missing paper or laminate anywhere.
The spine is clean with a complete, unsplit laminate & clear, undamaged lettering.


Strict visual grading in daylight and directly under a halogen desk lamp.

All discs are carefully play graded in their entirety on a Rega P9 deck with an Ortofon Kontrapunkt 'A' cartridge.
