THE BEATLES - 'SGT. PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND'
UK 1969 2nd MONO PRESSING
RARE *MONO/STEREO HYBRID COVER*
This rare 1969 pressing variant is on the final incarnation of the yellow & black Parlophone label: PMC 7027Both labels omit the 'Sold in UK..' text but have 'Gramophone Co. Ltd..' rims.
There is no tax/price code visible on either label.
Housed in a fully laminated, wide (19mm) inner-flipback cover with both mono & stereo catalogue number in the rear upper right corner.
'This is a mono recording' is present in the text in the rear lower right corner.
Complete with its original plain white 'Patents Applied For' inner-sleeve & unused cut-out insert.
Matrix numbers: XEX 637-1 & XEX 638-1
Stamper codes: 4/RLG & 1,9/MGH
Disc weight: 139g

Labels: VERY GOOD -
Many spindle marks to each hole & some hole wear but no major faults.
Visual: VERY GOOD
Both surfaces are clean but bear some noticeable marks and the occaisional light scratch in strong daylight.
Close inspection directly beneath halogen light reveals some harlmess wispy marks but no further major faults.
Play: VERY GOOD +
Despite frequent play, both sides play very well and is without any major deterioration to the sound quality.
I found no evidence of groovewear distortion or significant background noise on any track.
Apart from a few light ticks between tracks, there is little else to fault.
Cover
VERY GOOD +
A respectable example of this rare cover with just normal handling & storagwear but no major faults.
The front panel is clean & glossy with a few 'thumbnails' towards the opening edge, but no other significant signs of wear.
The corners show slight bruising & there is some light wear to the opening edges but no tears to any.
The rear panel is just as bright with again a few 'thumbnails'. The inside of the gatefold is clean & undamaged.
All seams are smooth, unstressed & unsplit and the spine is clean & fully worded.

VERY GOOD
Nornal handling & storagwear but without any major faults.
