THE BEATLES - 'SGT. PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND'

This barely played UK 1st pressing is the superior MONO version dating from the album's initial June 1967 release and is on the yellow & black Parlophone label: PMC 7027

Both labels carry the 'Sold in UK..' text & have 'The Gramophone Co. Ltd..' worded rims.

There is no' purchase tax code is visible around the centre of either label.

Housed in a fully laminated, inner-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed mono cover with a 'regular' width spine.

Complete with its original red & white 'The Fool' designed inner-sleeve & unused cut-out sheet.

A superb clean & unworn set with just a handful of light, well-aimed spindle trails around each unworn centre hole.

Visual: EXCELLENT +

This fine looking disc is totally unmarked & MINT on side 1, with not even a wispy paper hairline directly beneath my unforgiving halogen desk lamp. In fact the only visual blemish on the entire disc is a pin-head sized mark right at the beginning of track 1 on side 2. Apart from that small mark, there are no further signs of wear and both sides lie 100% flat on the turntable when playing.

Play: EXCELLENT +

This outstanding sounding copy bears no trace of any groove/play wear distortion or background interference anywhere. I would have graded NEAR MINT if it were not for approximately 12 clicks which occur at the beginning of 'Within Without You' due to the aforementioned mark. Apart form that minor blemish, the sound is flawless and as good as this majestic mono mix gets.

Cover: EXCELLENT

A spectacular example of this iconic cover which retains a clean, pin-sharp and correctly coloured panel beneath an unscratched high-gloss laminate which bears no creasing or 'thumbnails' to any part. All corners are free from any heavy bumps or bruising and all opening edges remain clean and sharp. The inside is vivid and vibrant with no missing paper to the flipback edges and by the sound of it, I doubt whether it has ever been been fully opened - so I didn't try it. The rear panel is in superb shape too just a single tiny 'thumbnails' & faint disc impression but nothing major. The spine is a little squashed but all the text is covered and readable and all seams of both pockets are smooth, unstressed & unsplit.

Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT +

Clean & unworn with a faint disc impression but no creasing, writing, tears or seam splits.
