Description

An original 1st mono press of Pepper on UK Parlophone. Matrix 1/1 - the 1st cut. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in the original gatefold cover with exposed flipbacks. EVEN better its one of the 1st proofing copies...how do we know. Because it had 'Fourth Proof' mentioned on the flipback. This is effectively the first proofing copy for the main production run of Pepper. Original cut-outs are present.
Vinyl (Vg/Vg-). Has not been heavily played But does exhibit a few light markings. So you need to keep expectations in check. One of two are semi feelable and will sound see detail. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, VERYGOOD level of playback with a couple of deviations per side. Intros and inbetweens are quiet and the audio comes across with grest clarity. A great copy by any measure -but this copy will not be troubling the top grades. Very nice rendition with just some light background in a couple of the fussier tracks. Expect one mark to cause a few brief clicks midway side 2. You just need to keep your expectations in check. Still allows you to sit back and marvel at this classic 60's title.. For Pepper and the vintage still very impressive- predominantly.
Cover (Vg+) In great condition and has survived the years in much better condition than many 4th proof examples. That front is in nice order - great colour retention. Rear looks good with minimal handing. Minimal edge wear. Spine exhibits a bit of wear...so text 70% legible.  Very tidy example. Can't knock it.
Inner (Vg+) No splits. Really tidy.
 Cutouts (Ex).
