Description
The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
(Odeon SMO 81045 LP 1967)
This is an original German Stereo Export LP pressing. Manufactured in Germany for Export purposes only. This pressing has a very clean gatefold sleeve. The insert is in very nice condition too. However, the vinyl is heavily played. Therefore, this copy would suit someone with a fairly decent original record - but a tatty sleeve.
It has a heavyweight fully laminated gatefold sleeve which has inner flipbacks. It comes with its original "cut-out" insert. This is printed on card. It has "Printed In Germany" printed on the insert. It has a period plain white paper inner sleeve. It does not have its original pink & white printed paper inner sleeve. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has red, white & gold "Odeon" labels. It has 1st press A-1/ B-2 matrix stampers.
Gatefold Sleeve: Overall, very nice indeed! There is some light, mild or very minor rubbing wear to the sleeve opening edges on some areas. This is not that noticeable. There is some light, mild or very mild rubbing wear to the corner tips. There are a couple of light creases on the front. These are not that noticeable. There is some light or very mild ringwear on the rear sleeve. Near Excellent condition
Vinyl: Unfortunately, this is a heavily played copy. There are some moderate to considerable sleeve rubs, or surface rub marks, which can be seen under a strong light. There are 8 or 9 light hairline marks. These measure from 2 cm to 7 cm in length. Overall, Fair+ condition. The labels are in near excellent condition & show mild or very mild spindle wear. The plain paper inner sleeve is in Very Good+ condition. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear, fading & creasing.
The card "cut-out" insert is in Very Good++ condition. There is a light or very mild crease.
I have fully play tested this LP. It plays Good+ to Very Good overall. There is some light, mild or very mild crackle in the background to a varying degree. This is obviously more noticeable in the quieter places. There are a few light clicks at the start of "Lucy In The Sky..." on Side 1. There are some light, mild or very mild intermittent slicks throughout the entirety of "She's Leaving Home". There are a few areas of more moderate crackle in some places too. These do not last too long. This record does not jump or skip on my system.
