CONDITION

Disc

Labels: MINT

A perfect 'as new' pair with not a single mark or spindle trail anywhere. Both centre holes are completely unworn and undamaged.

Visual: NEAR MINT

Both playing surfaces are 'factory-fresh' and completely free from any surface scuff or scratches when viewed in strong daylight. I have only refrained from grading MINT due to two or three pin-prick sided marks which are just visible on track 6 of side 1. Apart from that minor flaw, both are spotless - even directly beneath my unforgiving halogen desk lamp. You seldom see this record in this condition.

Play: NEAR MINT

This barely, if ever played copy with the reference mono mix sounds amazing throughout and plays without any trace of any groove/play wear on any track. My careful play-check at volume picked out just five light 'ticks' on the opening ambiance on the first track on side 1 and two soft 'pops' on 'She's Leaving Home' whihc were caused by the aforementioned tiny marks. Apart from these minor flaws, this copy is a spectacular showcase for the album as it was meant to be experienced and will not disappoint.

Cover

EXCELLENT

A very respectable example which retains a vivid high-gloss front panel with no 'thumbnail' wrinkles or indeed any other significant signs of wear. There is some light rubbing to the corners but no bumps or heavy bruising to any. There cover's only noticeable wear is on the opening edges where there is some rubbing and slight 'feathering' but there are no tears on any. The inside of the gatefold is clean & vibrant with but some slivers of missing paper to their unlaminated edges. The rear panel is as clean & glossy as the front with again no 'thumbanails' or discolouration. The spine is clean, white and readable with all its laminate fully intact and unsplit. All seams of both pockets too are smooth, unstressed & udamaged.

Inner-sleeve

EXCELLENT +

Clean & bright with no discolouration or blemishes to either side. There are some light storage creases to the lower part but no writing, tears or seam splits.
