This EXCELLENT UK 1st MONO pressing dates from initial June 1967 release and is on the black & yellow Parlophone labels: PMC 7027

Both labels include the 'Sold in UK....' text and have 'Gramophone Co. Ltd...' worded rims.

The 'KT' purchase tax code is visible in the centre of the side 2 label.

Housed within a fully laminated, inner-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed 'Patents Pending' mono cover.

Complete with its original red & white 'The Fool' designed inner-sleeve & unused cut-out sheet.

A bright and undamaged pair with many light spindle trails around each centre hole, but no other signs of wear.

Visual: VERY GOOD +

Both playing surface are clean and bright with no visible groove-whitening from over-play on a poor quality system or any significant marks in strong daylight. Closer examination directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp reveals some light hairlines and wispy inner-sleeve removal marks together with a sparkling rainbow shine. Both sides of the well looked-after disc lie 100% flat on the turntable when playing.

Sound Quality: EXCELLENT

This great sounding copy has received just careful play on good equipment and retains all the warmth, clarity and power of the superior mono mix. My single careful play-check at volume found no evidence of any groove/play wear or indeed any clicks, pops or other such distractions. In fact, apart from a hint of extremely low-level background on 'She's Leaving Home', there is little to fault sound-wise on this extremely respectable sounding 1st pressing.

Cover: EXCELLENT

A strong and fully intact example with a vibrant, unfaded front panel which retains a healthy high-gloss laminate bearing just two small 'thumbnails' but little else in the way of wear. All corners are in strong and unworn condition and there is no damage to any opening edge. The rear panel bears a single 'thumbnail' & a faint ring from storage but is otherwise and clean and richly coloured as the front.

The inside of the gatefold is immaculate with no missing paper on the flip-overs or any other traces of wear or age.

The spine is fully laminated & worded with no damage or wear along its entire length & all seams of both pockets are smooth, unstressed & unsplit.

Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT

Crisp & flat with a hint of age-toning to the edges of the white areas but no heavy creasing, writing or seam splits.
