THE BEATLES & TONY SHERIDAN - 'MY BONNIE'/'THE SAINTS'

1962 UK PRESSED POLYDOR 45


This very scarce & historic UK 1st pressing dates from 1962 was the first disc pressed & released commercially in the UK to feature The Beatles.

1st issues are chiefly recognizable by the bolder, 'wider' spaced lettering for the song title/group, which is thinner & more condensed on the more common 1963 reissue.

The striking orange, white & gold Polydor labels bear the catalogue number NH 66833.

An 'OT' purchase tax code is visible in the centre of the 'The Saints' label.

The 'My Bonnie' song features the introduction sung in English.


The disc is housed in an original generic Polydor company sleeve.

Condition

Labels: EXCELLENT +

A bright, vivid and undamaged pair which apart from a 'DELETED' stamp on each, are unmarked.

Visual: EXCELLENT

Both playing surfaces are perfectly glossy & unmarked in strong daylight with no scuffs or scratches anywhere. Even close inspection directly beneath my unforgiving halogen desk lamp fails to show up any significant marks or wear.

Audio: GOOD

This copy has clearly received a fair amount of play as there is some noticeable background on the unaccompanied introduction. However, this is less noticable when the track gets going. There is a fair amount of groovewear on the 'Saints' side but both sides play through fine with no clicks, pops, jumps or repeats.
