THE BEATLES & TONY SHERIDAN - 'MY BONNIE'/'THE SAINTS'
1962 UK PRESSED POLYDOR 45
This very scarce UK 1st pressing dates from 1962 and was the first disc pressed & released commercially in the UK to feature a performance of The Beatles.
1st issues are chiefly recognizable by the bolder, 'wider' spaced lettering for the song title/group, which is thinner & more condensed on the more common 1963 reissue.
The striking orange, white & gold Polydor labels bear the catalogue number NH 66833.
An 'OT' purchase tax code is visible in the centre of the 'The Saints' label.
The 'My Bonnie' song features the introduction sung in English.
The disc is housed in an original generic Polydor company sleeve.

Condition
Labels: VERY GOOD +
A bright & vivid pair which both show the evidence of a long departed sticker on each side but no writing or missing paper. The uppermost prong has become detached but no other major faults.
Visual: VERY GOOD
Both playing surfaces are clean & glossy with no major marks or wear in strong daylight. Close inspection directly beneath my unforgiving halogen desk lamp reveals several light stylus/hairline scratches but no other major wear.
Audio: GOOD
This copy has clearly received a fair amount of play and some wear is audible both sides as light background, chielfy on the unaccompanied introduction but less so when the band kicks in. There are no clicks, pops, jumps, repeats or any other such major faults.
