This album was The Beatles FIRST release on the now famous Apple label. It was entered into the charts on the 7th of December 1968 and went straight to number one-where it stayed for 7 weeks! Making it the FIRST double album to get the top slot...EVER!
The rather unusual fact about this album is that it was the first release by The Beatles which contained only SOLO material.
By the time 1970 ended, the total sales of this wonderful album were estimated to be 6.5 Million! However...get this...The only other album that beat this a few years later was "Saturday Night fever" !!!

The Vinyl:

The vinyl has has light needle marks to each disc.
 BUT after listening to her ALL THE WAY THROUGH, I only found some  background crackle, with the odd light pop-which I am sure would improve with just a gentle professional clean.

The labels:
VG+. All four of the labels are extremely bright and clean with the DARKER apple.
There are light spindle marks to each label, these can be seen when angling towards the light....
VERY NICE!!
Next to NO HOLE WEAR at all!
Sides 1 & 3 have some writing on them.
"Mfd in the U.K." to each of the labels.

The Cover:

NUMBERED: 0173834 It is an EARLY first run, with TOP loading.
 Garrod and Lofthouse gatefold
The spine remains strong and clear, with some rubbing to the top and bottom sections as well as a small tear to the top of the spine, of 3.5cm.
Lovely cover-creamy white, with just a few small areas of spidering to the laminated gatefold cover.
LOVELY CONDITION

Correct MONO cover as it doesn't have the printing of  Stereo to the back top right.
GLORIOUS and clean on the inside of the gatefold.

AGAIN, I AM BEING INCREDIBLY CRITICAL!!!

ORIGINAL FIRST PRINTING!!!


Inners:  MINT! They are replacement inners. They have the die-cut corners and the'windows' on one side to each and both lined with a plastic inner.
